John Beltran (Delsin / R&S / Peace Frog / Ubiquity)
One of techno’s unsung heroes. John Beltran, born 4 march 1969, is one of those producers that always seems to elude being pinned to any one category. His early work on Carl Craig's seminal Retroactive imprint sculpted a Detroit classic with hints of world music and Jazz vibrations.
His follow up "Tens Days of Blue" in 1996 on Peacefrog is arguably one of the most sought after techno classics which is still John's most successfully licensed music with songs like "Collage of Dreams" being used in the Miramax film Human Traffic and the HBO hit Six Feet Under. His alias 'Placid Angles' project entitled "The Cry" saw MixMaster Morris charting it as one of his favourite albums ever.
The Michigan producer, known for his intricate and melodic take on ambient techno is responsible for some of the greatest ambient techno records of the 1990s, and continues to win hearts today with his beautifully produced releases on labels like Delsin, Styrax and Millions of Moments.
